At CIFOR, Douglas Bwire coordinates research and capacity development activities that seek to strengthen joint forest and water governance in East Africa. He has also been involved in action research on strengthening collective action among community associations to undertake innovative practices that promote integrated natural resource management and livelihood improvement. Douglas holds a Master’s degree in Environmental studies (Climate change and sustainability) from Kenyatta University in Kenya. Douglas has a passion working with communities to support restoration initiatives.
