The LAC VERT (Green Lake in English) is a mass of water accumulated in the crater of an ancient volcano in the volcanic Virunga region. The geological conditions of the region and the isolation of this ecosystem would be the basis of algae and other biological elements responsible of its green color. With the current expansion of the Goma city, this landscape of great biological value needs to be protected by a special status.
