Description

The bleak landscape of Cape Town's largest dam in February 2018. Theewaterskloof Dam supplies almost 40% of all of Cape Town's water needs, and earlier this year it was perilously close to running completely dry. The words "Day Zero" spread worry throughout the city as city officials gave alternating predictions of when the taps would be turned off. Eventually, with massive water savings at all levels and the return of the winter rains, Cape Town averted a catastrophe.
