Description

Black Vanilla costs as much as silver and is therefore a highly valuable cash-crop for farmers in NE Madagascar. Vanilla can be grown in agroforestry systems with native shade trees. Researchers of the \"Diversity Turn in Land Use Science\" Project investigate the value of such plantations for biodiversity using sound recorders to record birds - here one of them is hanging on a vanilla plantation.
