Maria has been active within the infrastructure and investment sector for over 20 years of experience.

Currently, she is the President Commissioner for Clean Power Indonesia since 2015, a private developer specializing in distributed biomass power generation. She was responsible for the development of a Business Plan for an off-grid community-based bamboo biomass power plant project in 3 remote villages in the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra – Indonesia, with the total capacity of 700 KW completed in April 2018 as the first bamboo-based biomass power plants in Asia Pacific. The project includes providing networks distribution to all new users, job creation for villagers from the new bamboo farms, and land restoration. The project was majority funded by grants from the Millennium Challenge Account Indonesia.

Prior to working at Clean Power Indonesia, Maria worked at Thiess Indonesia, CIMIC group – Australia, for almost 10 years, where she was the head of project finance, overseeing all Thiess’ investment opportunities, particularly the toll road projects. Maria began her career at Arthur Andersen Indonesia in 1996, where she was exposed to private and public companies engaged in corporate finance consulting services. She also had an experience working in an Investment Banking sector, where she was involved in several major acquisitions financing and structured financing transactions.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, USA in 1996 and a Master of Business in Accounting from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia in 2005.
