Within the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), Nelson Grima is the Coordinator of the Science-Policy Programme, and the Coordinator of Teaming Up 4 Forests, a science-industry collaboration platform. Dr Grima coordinates the generation of scientific knowledge products and outreach to feed findings into forest-related international and intergovernmental processes such as UNFF, UNFCCC, CBD, IPBES, and CITES, and into other decision-making structures such as the forest industry. With an academic background in ecosystem services, European forestry, and forest engineering, and through extensive hands-on working experience in diverse regions of the world, he gained a deep understanding of human-nature interactions and their effects on ecosystems, livelihoods, and well-being from local to global scale.
