We can’t wait to welcome you at the Kemptville Campus Education and Community Centre outside Ottawa, Canada, for a week-long event set to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, facilitate knowledge sharing and inspire strategic action to ensure a thriving future for forests worldwide.

IMFN, UN Decade on Ecosytem Restoration and Local Contributions to 2030 Global Goals
Show how Model Forests are already showing action beyond words towards achieving 2030 global targets using a combination of in-person speakers and short video clips from those unable to attend in-person
Private Sector Approaches including landscape finance
Creating a showcase of unique approaches that Model Forests have and can use to finance their actions at the landscape-level, with a focus on moving beyond ‘the lack’ of landscape finance but towards how and where it is already being put to good use
Model Forests, the Arts and the Art of Influence – visual, spoken and media arts
Highlight the many ways Model Forests around the world are using the arts including design, fashion, food , local festivals and art to engage non-traditional audiences/partners in their landscapes
Post-Wildfire Restoration and Forest Landscape Restoration
Shine light on the excellent work of Model Forests around the world through local restoration efforts with a particular focus on the leadership role played by women and girls with emphasis on gender and inclusion approaches.
Youth Leadership in IMFN and Youth Entrepreneurs - Beyond Participation
Establishing connections between the varied approaches to youth’s leadership in Model Forests between the IMFN regional networks and through the experience of those leading the way within and outside the Network
IMFN Forest Communicators meeting - IMFN Story-telling for Non-Model Forest Audiences
Learn from those that are sharing, packaging and preparing Model Forest results so that they can be even better understood by wider audiences
Innovations and Best Practices Between Model Forests
Create a space to exchange experiences, best practices and possible future collaborations between different Model Forests, Regional Networks and IMFN partners
Forest Therapy, Forest Bathing and Connections with Nature
Exploring the various regional approaches to the connections we make with nature from different cultural and professional perspectives
Gender Equality, Empowerment and Voice in IMFN Project and Processes
Moving beyond the gender focus within all sessions, demonstrating how the IMFN and its Model Forests are putting gender policies into practice in our global, regional and local efforts
Collaborative Approaches to Integrated Fire Management
Explore the past, present and future role of multi-stakeholder partnerships such as Model Forests in building capacities to implement integrated fire management and reduce negative impacts of wildfires on livelihoods, landscapes and global climate.
Forest Education, Forest Schools and Pedagogy
Bring together partners working on equipping the next generation of forest leaders – of all ages – including those already working on these topics and those that wish to learn more

Hearing from Model Forest practitioners and partners how sustainable forests, traditional forest products and non-traditional forest enterprises are at work generating income, rural employment and productivity in Model Forest landscapes
