Robert Mansalo-on Cahapon, co-founder of the Salumayag Youth Collective for Forests, is an Indigenous forester from the Manobo-Kulamanun community in Bukidnon, Philippines. Salumayag Youth Collective for Forests is an Indigenous youth and women-led organization that empowers upland communities in the stewardship of their ancestral lands through regenerative practices and narratives. Robert also uses his social media platform, “Takurug Ki,” to promote indigenous culture and environmental stewardship by sharing stories that highlight the importance of wild foods, native trees, and the connection between traditional knowledge and sustainability. Through this platform, he amplifies the voices of indigenous communities protecting their ancestral lands, fostering discussions on environmental advocacy and the value of indigenous ecological wisdom.
