Henriette Lachenit is a forest and climate protection expert with a strong background in international cooperation and nonprofit leadership. As Co-Managing Director of PRIMAKLIMA, a leading German NGO committed to fight the climate and biodiversity crises, she guided the organization through a phase of strategic growth and innovation. She led its transformation from a project-funding entity to a developer of its own high-integrity forest conservation and reforestation projects. PRIMAKLIMA successfully repositioned itself both within and beyond the voluntary carbon market – shifting from conventional offsetting to broader and contribution-based environmental action, with a strong focus on biodiversity, community engagement, and long-term impact.
Henriette holds a PhD in Forest Sciences and brings over 15 years of experience at the intersection of science, policy, and civil society. She is passionate about making nature-based solutions work- for the climate, for ecosystems, and for people.
