Dr. Aaron J.M. Russell is GGGI’s Regional Sustainable Landscapes Lead for Asia, including Sustainable Forestry, Climate Resilient Agriculture, Coastal Resilience and Blue Economy, and Nature-based Solutions for Infrastructure Investment. He has 25 years of work experience in natural resources governance, social science and climate change adaptation throughout Asia and Africa. Previously, Dr. Russell established GGGI’s country programs in Myanmar and Uzbekistan, where he led policy advisory and investment projects on mangroves and climate-smart agriculture, respectively. In addition, Dr.Russell worked as a Scientist at CIFOR and the World Fish Center and holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
