Alain Du Cap is a Senior Policy Advisor at Global Affairs Canada with over two decades of international experience in environmental and climate policy. He holds advanced degrees in Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change and International Development. Alain has supported the design and implementation of several strategic initiatives across Canada’s climate finance, biodiversity finance, and international assistance portfolio. He has served as a thematic lead on water, climate, biodiversity, and nature-based solutions, and has worked extensively across sectors including agriculture, forestry, water, and energy. Alain began his career in environmental monitoring technology and spent more than a decade conducting fieldwork in aquatic ecology, hydrology, and environmental impact assessment. Currently, he advises Canada’s International Biodiversity Program, advancing research and programming at the intersection of climate, nature, and development finance.
