Anders Malmer is an adjunct professor at the Swedish University of Agricultural Science (SLU) and International Coordinator of the Swedish Forest Agency. He leads the agency’s program ‘Locally controlled forest restoration – governance and market-oriented approach for resilient landscapes’ and is currently the chairperson of the FAO Committee on Forestry Working Group on Dryland Forests and Agrosilvopastoral Systems. Over the past 30 years, he has carried out significant research on land use and management in forests and rangelands in over 30 countries on all continents except Antarctica. He holds a PhD in Forest Soil Sciences from SLU.
