Carlos Ovalle Molina is a researcher in grasslands for Mediterranean areas, with an emphasis on annual forage legumes and alfalfa that are tolerant to water stress. He’s the former national program coordinator for sustainable agriculture and the environment at the Agricultural Research Institute of Chile (INIA). He is a professor of agricultural sciences at the Universidad de Talca and an adjunct professor for the doctorate program in agricultural sciences at the Universidad de Concepción.
