Hosted digitally and in Glasgow alongside COP26, the GLF Climate hybrid conference made a unanimous call for ambitious, concrete action to stop the climate crisis.
Attended by 4,386 digital participants from 145 countries, along with 481 in-person participants at the University of Glasgow, the event featured 400 leading scientists, activists, Indigenous leaders, financiers, youth and government leaders.
Across 67 plenaries, interactive sessions, launches and climate talks, GLF Climate: Forests, Food, Finance – Frontiers of Change explored the potential of three key climate solutions: forest restoration, resilient food systems, and sustainable finance. Messages spread on social media rallied 41.34 million people around concrete ways to address the climate emergency as quickly as possible.
Financing green and green financing are the two sides of the same coin and they enable us to respond to our challenges.
You can’t teach food systems revolutions or reforms to someone with a hungry stomach. Whether it’s in a rural agriculture community or in the depths of urban food deserts, climate action - and more importantly, climate justice and food system justice and equality - needs to be accessible and equitable for all to have real, lasting reform, especially for those in the most vulnerable communities.
We cannot stop the climate crisis today, biodiversity loss tomorrow, and degradation the day after. We need to tackle all issues together.
Forests don’t solve all the problems on a local level. It is needed to have a landscape-integrated approach.
As Indigenous women, we don't just carry water or babies. We carry solutions, and we carry our future.
We stimulate action upon people, and we also have the incentive to do this. Because we are part of the community, we thrive with the community. We rise and fall together as a community.

How creative can you get at a climate conference? That was the question posed by the GLF and Youth in Landscapes Initiative to youth participants at GLF Climate, who were challenged to create their best visual representation of each day of the conference.
