Dr. Alfred Herberg is the Vice President and Head of the Section “Conservation, Development and Sustainable Use of Nature” of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) in Bonn, Germany. The Agency provides expertise and scientific support to the Federal Environment Ministry on all issues of nature conservation and landscape management and in international cooperation activities. Dr. Herberg is responsible for the main section II, Conservation, Development and Sustainable Use of Nature and the Landscape with the main fields. Dr. Herberg studied landscape planning, political and social science in Germany, and has more than 20 years of experience serving in numerous projects as researcher and team leader in all fields of landscape planning at local, national and international level.
