Community forest landscapes are inherently complex ecosystems made up of often competing interests for limited and contested resources. The only way sustainable change can be achieved in this environment is by putting community perspectives at the heart of any intervention design discussion and accepting that nature is complex and multilayered. During this session, the host, Plan Vivo hopes to dispel myths around community forestry projects, showing that complexities are necessary, and must be thoroughly considered and navigated if such projects are to truly deliver impact for people, nature and climate.
