Current Toshao (indigenous village chief) for Shulinab village. Current chairman of the National Toshaos Council, the highest representative body for Indigenous Peoples in Guyana
Current chairman for the South Rupununi District Council (a representative body for the 21 Southern Rupununi indigenous communities)

Nickolas Fredericks is married and has 4 children. He was born and raised on a ranch three miles south of Shulinab, a mixed Macushi/Wapishana village. At a young age he became aware of the importance of the natural environment and developed a passion for its protection. It is this passion that has led him to become a leading advocate for land rights in the Rupununi.
