Alice Muchugi

Alice Muchugi is the team leader, Trees Genetic Resources and Biodiversity at the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF), overseeing activities that focus on safeguarding tree diversity, ensuring the availability of quality planting materials, and supporting landscape restoration efforts to combat climate change and support nutritional security. She holds a PhD and MSc specializing on characterizing diversity and sustainable use of tree genetic resources. She has been engaged in various research and development projects involving tree genetic resources across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with work published in over 100 papers, books, and book chapters.
