Amath is the Lead Environment and Climate for West and Central Africa at IFAD based in the IFAD regional hub in Abidjan. In this role, he oversees the largest IFAD environmental and climate finance portfolio ( 114$ million USD), manages the regional work on de-risking IFAD’s investments/strategies in 24 countries while supporting the integration of sustainability into the institution governance policies, processes and procedures. He leads the climate finance mobilization for the region with a target of a half billion USD under IFAD 11 (2019-2021) from the Green Climate Fund, The Global Environment Facility, The Adaptation Fund and other sources ( public and private). He deals with various operations and safeguards related to sustainable tree crops value chains, sustainable management of ecosysments in West and Central Africa.
