Dr. Stefan Burkart is a Senior Scientist at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT’s Tropical Forages Program in Cali, Colombia. He holds a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics, an M.Sc. in Agribusiness, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. He leads the Alliance’s socio-economic research on livestock and forages since 2014, focusing on value chains, business models, sustainable technology adoption, and policy, with attention to transversal issues such as inclusiveness. Since 2015, he has represented the Alliance on the Colombian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. His research spans Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
