Emil Sirén Gualinga, a member of the Kichwa People of Sarayaku, Ecuador, specializes in Indigenous rights, climate and biodiversity finance, and Indigenous economies. He collaborates with several Indigenous Peoples’ organizations in the Amazon. Emil is the lead author of a due diligence guide for investors focused on Indigenous Peoples’ rights (https://respectingindigenousrights.org/). As a researcher at the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, he focuses on Indigenous-led renewable energy projects globally. Emil has previously worked as an Impact Finance Analyst at Amazonía Impact Ventures and as a Sustainable Finance Consultant at Ethos and serves on advisory boards/panels for various multistakeholder initiatives.
