Roopal is Strategic Finance Advisor to the Landscape Finance Lab. Having held several senior roles within corporate credit risk, loan trading, corporate derivatives sales and structuring over a decade at Citibank (in London and Sydney), since 2019 Roopal has embarked on a journey as an independent consultant. Her work aims to leverage the strong technical skillset built during her time in banking by taking on roles at organisations that positively contribute towards the UN SDGs – she predominantly focuses on bringing thought processes and instruments used in traditional institutional finance to the sustainable and impact investment space to enable capital to flow at scale. In addition to her work with the Lab, she has also carried out advisory work for a number of clients in various sectors, including but not limited to: not-for-profits, asset managers, start-ups, corporates, impact investors and impact measurement. Roopal spends her time between Blantyre (Malawi), where she is originally from, and London (United Kingdom) – she graduated from the University of Warwick in 2008 with a first class degree in Computer and Management Sciences.
