Aldo is Managing Director and Co-founder of Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV), an impact investment company empowering indigenous and forest people to protect and regenerate the Amazon Rainforest and its biodiversity. AIV blended finance approach combines result-based finance with technical assistance to drive sustainable land use and develop the Amazon bioeconomy. Aldo has led conservation and sustainable livelihoods programmes in the Amazon to protect indigenous and local communities’ lands from illegal logging, mining, and deforestation. He brings more than 15 years of experience working hand in and with indigenous peoples and smallholder farmers organisations, public and private stakeholders. He has played strategic roles in developing partnerships between indigenous peoples and conservation organisations, and rural business and ethical buyers. After been involved in the design and implementation of development impact bonds, Aldo founded Amazonia Impact Ventures with the aim to mobilise capital to the Amazon people using innovative financial instruments as tools to solve the most pressing socio-environmental challenges.
