Tomo serves as the Vice President of Corporate Finance & Strategy at Komaza, a Kenya-based social enterprise partnering with over 25,000 smallholder farmers to accelerate sustainable forestry in Africa. Formerly a private equity professional at Mitsubishi Corporation, he joined Komaza in 2017 to develop the world’s first financial instrument focused on smallholder forestry, winning the Climate Policy Initiative Innovative’ s Climate Financing Award. Tomo leads fundraising, structured finance, carbon project development, and strategic initiatives including $28M Series B, which was recognized as “the Impact Project/Investment of the Year” by Environmental Finance Magazine. He holds BA (hon.) in International Relations from Brown University. Tomo is Acumen East Africa Fellow and Robert Bosch Foundation Global Governance Futures Fellow.
