Sarah Lowery

Ms. Lowery leads the USAID Land and Urban Office’s work on private sector engagement and responsible land-based investment. She focuses on building the business case for responsible, inclusive investment that respects the land and resource rights of communities in and around project sites and creates tangible benefits for local people and shareholders alike. Previously, Ms. Lowery managed Forest Trends’ Public-Private Co-Finance Initiative and designed financial mechanisms and climate finance innovations like REDD+ bonds to unlock larger pools of capital in the pursuit of conservation goals. Ms. Lowery holds an MBA and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University.
