Rosinah Mbenya serves as the Country Coordinator at PELUM Kenya, a network comprising 69 member organizations that champion agroecological principles and practices among smallholder farmers and pastoralist communities. In this role, she supports the advancement of sustainable agriculture systems rooted in environmental integrity and farmer empowerment. Ms Mbenya holds several strategic leadership positions within global and continental agroecological movements. She is a board member of IFOAM International and a Steering Group member of the Next Generation Leadership Collective. Additionally, she serves on the steering committees of the Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative for Africa and the Africa Women Leaders in Agroecology. Ms. Mbenya is a passionate advocate for ecologically responsible farming and a strong proponent of amplifying the voices of women and youth in agriculture. Her leadership and commitment have earned her significant recognition, including being named First Place Winner in the Education category of the 3rd edition of the Women in Ag Award 2024. Most recently, she was selected as a Climate Fellow in the inaugural cohort of the AWARD Climate Action (ACA) Fellowship.
