Nabalayo is a Kenyan multi-disciplinary artist with a bachelor’s degree in music performance arts. She is passionate about community and cultural heritage and exchange, taking a keen interest in her Kenyan roots as her foundation while using music as a tool of transformation. Her inspiration lies in indigenous folk music culture. As an ethnomusicology enthusiast, she seeks to preserve the surviving remnants of folk idioms. Her approach involves documentation, advocacy and creative expression through music. Her values shine through her craft where she creates neo traditional music that brings the beauty and complexity of the past with the wonders of today together.
