Levis co-founded Ceriops Environmental Research Organization, through which he collaborates with indigenous coastal communities to restore degraded mangrove ecosystems to sustain their marine fisheries’ livelihoods. He is also an Ocean Restoration Steward in 2023, and current GLFx Mombasa chapter coordinator. His leadership fosters greater collaboration against the threats and drivers of mangrove forest degradation in Mombasa, Kenya’s second-largest city.
