Kamal Prawiranegara joined CIFOR-ICRAF in 2010 and currently serves as Deputy Director of the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on sustainable landscapes. He leads the implementation and operations of the Forum and oversees GLF’s five core innovation programs; 1.) Youth In Landscapes, 2.) GLFx Community-led chapters, 3.) Landscape Academy, 4.) Sustainable Finance and Value Chain and 5.) Collaborative Platforms, Forums, and Outreach.

Kamal is responsible for executing GLF’s global strategy, managing its annual budget, building strategic partnerships, and supervising over 70 staff and consultants across the globe. He works closely with GLF’s 35 Charter Members and Engaged Partners to shape its long-term vision.

Prior to joining CIFOR-ICRAF, Kamal served as International Stakeholder Relations Officer with the post-tsunami rehabilitation agency in Aceh and Nias (BRR), coordinated UN–World Bank missions in Papua, and developed tourism strategies for the Jakarta City Government. He speaks English, Indonesian, and Dutch.
