James Stapleton

As CGIAR’s Senior Strategic Advisor for Advocacy for Impact, James Stapleton leads global advocacy initiatives and represents CGIAR at key international forums such as G7, G20, CFS, and UNFCCC. With 20 years of experience, he has successfully led policy communications and advocacy strategies across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. James specializes in building advocacy coalitions and campaigns, from grassroots efforts to international multi-stakeholder initiatives. His work has focused on food security, health, education, and livelihoods. He has also collaborated with UN agencies and international organizations, working for several CGIAR centers and humanitarian agencies.
