Dr. Ingrid Teich is a Biologist with a strong background in spatial statistics who has worked for the last 15 years as a researcher in the field of Ecology and Evolution. Her work mainly focuses on assessing and monitoring spatial and temporal variation of ecosystem properties, such as primary productivity and genetic diversity. The ecosystem services they contribute to (biodiversity conservation, climate regulation, and water provision, among others). She was a Professor of Biostatistics at the Catholic University of Córdoba and a researcher at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA-CONICET) in Argentina from 2017 to 2022. Ingrid is currently an associate researcher at the Centre of Development and Environment (CDE) of the University of Bern and part of the WOCAT (World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies) Secretariat. She also works as an international consultant for FAO on projects related to Land Degradation and Biodiversity Conservation. She´s worked in the Science Policy interface as a technical advisor of the government in Argentina. Currently, She supports countries in Latin America, Central Asia and Eastern Europe for informed decision-making related to integrated land use planning, prioritization of investments and development of national strategies to achieve Land Degradation Neutrality. In addition to teaching Biostatistics to undergraduate students, she has led several postgraduate courses on spatial and multivariate statistics, digital soil mapping, GIS, and conservation biology.
