Eckart von Hirschhausen

Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen (born 1967) is a physician, science journalist, and one of Germany’s most recognized communicators on health and sustainability. After studying medicine and science journalism in Berlin, London, and Heidelberg, he became known for making complex topics engaging through television, books, and public speaking. In 2020, he founded the Healthy Earth – Healthy People Foundation to promote planetary health and published Mensch Erde – Wir könnten es so schön haben. He presents Wissen vor 8 – Erde and documentaries for ARD, is an honorary professor at Marburg University, and a member of the Club of Rome and North Rhine-Westphalia’s Sustainability Council.
