Betty has worked for the past 15 years on agricultural value chains and rural development, including as a global Technical Advisor for Market Engagements and Value Chains at the Catholic Relief Service in Baltimore, Ghana Country Manager for Fairtrade Africa, Ghana Country Manager for Agribusiness Systems International (now Tanager) an affiliate of ACDI/VOCA, and Project Coordinator and Social Development Advisor for Care International on the West African Fair Fruits Project. She possesses a strong understanding of agricultural value chains and agribusiness development, community empowerment, digitization of agricultural value chains and financial inclusion, technical knowledge of food safety and quality management and environmental/socio-economic dimensions of natural resource management, good policy analysis, research experience and excellent client engagement skills. She is passionate about women’s empowerment and deliberately mainstreams gender considerations in all her roles and responsibilities. Betty is currently the Country Director of the World Cocoa Foundation in Ghana.

Betty holds a PhD in Environmental Science with specialization in Policy and Risk Management from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, USA; a Master of Science in Natural Resources – Regulatory Issues in Development from the University of Greenwich, UK; and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
