Angela Penagos is an Economist with a Master’s in Environmental Economics and Natural Resources, with broad experience designing and assessing public policies on rural and agricultural development. She is currently the Director of the Office of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Bogota (UNECLAC, CEPAL in Spanish). Formerly, she was the President of the Financing Fund for the Agriculture Sector for Agricultural Sector (FINAGRO), where she led the transformation of the institution’s development credit, promoting food production and the transition towards climate-adapted agriculture favoring biodiversity conservation. She was the Director of the Agrifood System Research Center at Andes University and the Rural Development Unit Director at the National Development Planning (DNP) in Bogota
