Silvia Abruscato

Youth leader

Silvia Abruscato is a youth leader and student in environmental management, conservation, biodiversity and conflict management. Silvia led the International Forestry Students’ Association delegation to the Climate Change Conference COP 23. She is a graduate of both the University of Copenhagen and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) where she obtained a European Master’s degree in Environmental Science (EnvEuro). Her academic research centered on the protection and management of forest tree diversity in Sila National Park in southern Italy. She seeks to work in the science-policy interface and landscape restoration scenarios globally contributing to enhancing community involvement in decision-making processes and forestry education. Silvia is joining at the GLF both as an MC and a youth expert in the Restoration Pavilion led by the GPFLR.
